KATSINA: Command Headquarters Announces Impressive Anti-Crime Achievements in November

In a press briefing held on the 5th of December, 2023, the Command Headquarters unveiled significant achievements in the fight against major crimes from 1st to 30th November, 2023. A total of 81 cases, including armed robbery, kidnapping, culpable homicides, and cattle rustling, were reported during this period.

Law enforcement efforts resulted in the apprehension of 130 suspects linked to these reported cases, with 63 cases subsequently charged to court. Among the arrested individuals were 38 suspected armed robbers, 16 murder suspects, 19 suspected rapists, and one person caught in possession of illicit drugs. Additionally, 42 suspects faced charges related to offenses such as criminal force, intimidation, inciting disturbance, and belonging to a gang of brigands.

The command also highlighted its success in rescuing 69 kidnapped victims, neutralizing three suspected kidnappers, and recovering a significant cache of exhibits. These included 185 rounds of 7.62 live ammunition, 90 rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, 13 AK-47 magazines, and 57 bags of maize.

Commending the efforts of the state's residents, the Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude and called on the public to continue supporting the command in its ongoing battle against crime. Emphasizing the importance of providing crucial and timely information, the commissioner urged citizens to contribute to the swift and decisive actions taken by the command to deter criminal activities in the state.
